I was at the Winter Extravanganza at Chenoa Manor this past Saturday and the first vendor that I encountered there was Nomadic Pies. One bite of their Peach-Raspberry pie later, I was seriously hooked and was not leaving without a pie! The flavor from the fruit tastes so fresh and you can tell that the crust is homemade. If I lived closer to Kennett Square, I would have a serious pie addiction. As it is, I'll make an effort to get a pie when I'm in the area. P.S. to the nice gentleman who convinced me to pick Apple-Ginger - you were right. Delicious choice!

Now has their own storefront!!! The pies - both sweet and savory - are outstanding. They serve by the slice and you can sit with a coffee in their cozy, small but lovely storefront. Steak and mushroom pie was delicious, as was the quiche. Took home mini berry pie for husband which didn't last long. My only (two) wishes is that they would open at 8 on Sunday morning for coffee and quiche - and that they would stay open later for dessert. I would eat a slice of sweet pie for Sunday breakfast, and we would love to come here for pie and ice cream for dessert!! Great addition to Kennett Square.

Checked out this food truck at the Phoenixville Farmer's Market last Saturday. I ordered the spinach/goat cheese quiche. Divine. The guy working the truck was super friendly. For $6 my tummy was happy and full. Looking forward to trying other items and some of their savory pies. Their menu has quiches, savory and sweet pies. You can also put in a larger order for the following week for pick up. Definitely check them out if you can.

The chocolate lavender pie looks fantastic, a picture-perfect specimen, but the filling is weird---dense and hard, and eating it is like eating a thick chocolate bar with a fork. However, the savory pies are wonderful. Comforting stuff inside a very well made, flaky crust. The fruit pies are very good, too, as is that lemon-sour cream pie, which has a texture like something my mother made from a box c. 1975---jiggly, smooth, and creamy. That's a good thing. Pie should be heavily nostalgic.

Fantastic pies, pot pie was chock full of goodness and DH swears there is bacon fat in the crust! Thankfully not too close for us to make it a habit. We will return!

Took a peach pie to a friends for a picnic. The crust was bland and had no visual appeal. The filling was tart not sweet at all. For the price I was not happy and neither where my dinner mates.

Just had the triple berry pie and I'm in love. As a KSQ native, I've been meaning to try Nomadic Pies for quite a while. Bared the intense rain tonight to pop in last minute--it was absolutely worth it. Amazing flaky crust and the freshest black berries, blueberries and some other berry...oh and some freshly whipped cream. It couldn't have been more perfect.

Strolling through the Kennett Square Farmer's Market today (open every Fridays 2-6pm, May through September), I spotted a new site. The Nomadic Pie truck. I wondered up and noticed something immediately, almost all of the savory pies for the day had been sold out. Hmmm... now even more curious, and I stepped up and spotted a Cheddar and Bacon Pie remaining on the board. I ordered one up from Molly, but to my dismay, she handed me a purple marker and asked me to cross them off the board for the day. Someone had just beaten me to it. So...the choice became easy, a savory tomato, herb and fresh cheese pie. After getting it home, I cut myself a small slice and tasted it. Two more small slices later, I've got a new favorite spot. Molly also mentioned to me her Chicken and Cilantro pie is a crowd favorite. She uses fresh and local ingredients, and that really came through in the delicacy I sampled. No brainer to return for more pies soon!
